Job Summary: The Project Manager (Deployment) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maritime operations, including vessel scheduling, port management, staff deployment, equipment allocation/transport/maintenance/repair, and logistical support. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient maritime operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime operations, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of maritime regulations and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle for equipment deployment, including planning, execution, and delivery.
Manage installation and commissioning processes to ensure timely and efficient execution.
Operational Oversight:
Manage daily maritime operations, including vessel arrivals, departures, and cargo handling.
Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and operational protocols.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of maritime operations.
Coordinate with senior management to align operational goals with organizational objectives.
Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise a team of maritime professionals, including port operators, logistics coordinators, and support staff.
Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to team members.
Logistics Coordination:
Oversee logistical aspects of maritime operations, including cargo scheduling, storage, and transportation.
Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Resource Management:
Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and technology, to support maritime operations.
Monitor and control operational budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and challenges in maritime operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Respond to operational emergencies and incidents, coordinating response efforts and ensuring resolution.
Performance Monitoring:
Track and analyze operational performance metrics to assess efficiency and effectiveness.
Implement improvements and best practices to enhance operational performance.
Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain effective communication with port authorities, shipping companies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Prepare and present reports on operational status, performance, and issues to senior management.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to international and local maritime law and regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
Confirm that new personnel meet the requirements for the vessel's license and approval documents.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in maritime operations, with a proven track record in a managerial or supervisory role.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
