Job description

As a big data company, we value privacy protection and information security compliance as our priority. We are looking for a Legal Counsel to assist the legal aspects of our business under the instruction of our Legal and Compliance Director, including ensuring compliance with business operation, checking legal requirements and law guidelines, giving legal advice to the management level, and researching local laws in several countries.

As a legal team member, you will do legal research, study, draft, review, interpret and translate legal documents, and effectively communicate the result inside the legal team or with other departments internally. It is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the internet and big data industry, looking to gain exceptional experience in a varied and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and study local laws, regulations, and other requested topics in other jurisdictions
• Give accurate and timely counsel to other colleagues in a variety of legal topics (including but not limited to, business agreements, privacy law, cyber law, labor law, etc.)
• Communicate with other legal team members and different departments internally 
• Draft, review, interpret and translate legal documents such as agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
• Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility

Requirements

• Fluent English and/or Japanese ability is necessary
• Knowledge of Japanese law will be a priority 
• Bar qualification to practice in Taiwan is necessary 
• Bar qualification in other jurisdictions is a plus
• Research ability to study, organize and analyze relevant laws and regulations in other jurisdictions or other requested topics

• Cooperative characteristic to communicate efficiently; capable of completing tasks as a collaborator or independently if necessary
• Initiative-taking, optimistic, and cooperative personality with the entrepreneurial spirit
• A high degree of professional ethics and integrity
